About an hour's drive north from Philadelphia to Doylestown will lead you to the art museum named after Doylestown native, James A. Michener, who envisioned such an establishment during his days as a Pulitzer-prize winning writer.
The museum celebrates the works of area artists with its inspiring collection of impressionist paintings from the Pennsylvania Impressionist School, along with portraits, landscapes, sculptures, photographs and even furniture.
