Activity OverviewJean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve aims to protect, preserve and establish outreach programs and exhibits about the cultural and natural resources of Louisiana and Mississippi River. The park is free of entry cost and consists of six separate sites that the public can explore by visiting. Families and children can learn a lot about the history and culture of Louisiana when they visit the park, other activities to enjoy are bird watching, wildlife watching including alligators, and exploring the plants of the Mississippi River Delta. The park is named after French-American Pirate of the 19th century, Jean Lafitte. The park and nature preserve is open all year round. Things to Do
