Activity Overview
Kalithea Park is a relatively small neighborhood park in the El Dorado Hills. It has a number of amenities that make it a nice place to go for an afternoon with the family. There is lots to keep kids busy with a fun children's play structure and a natural turf sports field that is very popular. Perhaps its greatest asset however is the incredible view you can enjoy from high up here in the hills. After it is in the name; "kalithea" translates as "beautiful view" from Greek!
Things to Do
- Amateur photographers should not leave their cameras at home. The sumptuous views afforded of Folsom Lake and the city of Sacramento stretching far out into the distance provide the perfect subjects to snap some memorable pictures. Catch the scene at sunrise or dusk for some really great photos.
- This park is the perfect place for a picnic. Depending on the weather you can choose between covered or uncovered picnic tables. Unpack your food and enjoy while looking out over the spectacular views. Or if you are really organised you can set up at one of the park's barbecue grills.
Kalithea Park Insider Tips
- Be aware that the park has only a small parking lot and that it can be tough to find a place on the street. If you can try to use public transport to reach it.
- The park features a well paved walking path suitable for both young children and the elderly.
- There is a toilet in the park.
