Activity Overview
If you feel like getting out of the house when the weather's nice, why not head along to Vacaville, just over half an hour to the west of Sacramento? The city of Vacaville is home to two large fantastic parks that you and your family should make the time to visit: Lagoon Valley and Pena Adobe Regional Park.
These incredible parks cover nearly 500 acres of land and features all the staples that you'd expect from parks of their size. Entry to Lagoon Valley and Pena Adobe Regional Park is only subject to a small fee for your vehicle and if you decide to enter the parks on foot or by bicycle, you will not have to pay any fees.
Things to Do
- Stretch your legs by going for a walk along one of the parks' numerous hiking trails.
- Feel like relaxing by the lake? Why don't you bring along your rods and bait and partake in a spot of fishing? You can also take along non-motorized boats for use on the lake.
- Consider taking your bicycles to the parks and enjoying the bike trails available to visitors.
- Have a game of horseshoes in the parks' horseshoe pit.

- Don't leave your furry friends at home! There is a great dog park for them to run around in and make new friends.
- If you bring a picnic for you and your family, consider packing some extra food so that you and your little ones can feed the geese and ducks at the lagoon.
