Activity Overview
Lake Grapevine was created in the 50's when the U.S Army Corps of Engineers dammed Denton Creek to help prevent flood damage in the area. While serving this purpose it also provides an excellent area for various recreational activities. When the weather is good the local communities come out to enjoy the sun. There is plenty to do both on the water and around the lakeshore including boating, fishing, walking, camping, biking, hunting and more.

Lake Grapevine Insider Tips
- If you are visiting during the summer and intend to fish then try to find out the level of the water before you make your trip. Though it can be an ideal spot when the water is high reports from fishermen generally suggest it is not so great when the water is low.
