Activity Overview
You might be wondering what people are doing heading to a cemetery. Lake View Cemetery is not your usual cemetery as this is where the remains of the legendary Asian artist Bruce Lee lies. Spend some quiet time as you walk on the well-manicured lawns and see the gravestones of other key figures in Seattle's history too.
Things to Do
- You can find Bruce Lee's grave on top of a hill but it's best to bring out your Maps app to locate it. Find the white heart-shaped grave and you'll see his grave right behind it along with his son's grave (Brandon Lee). Bruce's other family members' graves (his wife, mother, and stepfather) are also located nearby.
- While Bruce Lee's final resting place is the usual destination here, remember that there are other graves here. Pay respect and keep silent.
- Other notable internments here include John Nordstrom, founder of Nordstrom, and Beriah Brown, Mayor of Seattle. If you still have time, walk along the vast expanse of the cemetery and read the inscriptions on the gravestones. You can find some dating back to the 1800s, likely belonging to someone coming from prominent families in Seattle.
Lake View Cemetery Insider Tips
- For parking, you can drive inside the cemetery and stop for a while but if you are planning to stay for more than 30 minutes, you will need to find a proper slot.
