Activity Overview
Brookline's Larz Anderson Auto Museum is the oldest automobile collection in the U.S. As you would expect it is home to an impressive collection of vintage cars from the first half of the 20th Century. Exhibits are based around these vehicles and related artifacts from the times. The museum also runs educational programs and lectures.
Things to Do
- The Museum's current exhibit explores the story of engineering innovation that has accompanied the automobile. Past exhibits have explored the British car industry since World War II and the preservation of classic antique cars.
- "Rediscover Weld" is a walking tour of the grounds which you can download off their website or pick up at their front desk. It lays out a trail through the museum and its grounds with information on the history of House and the cars.
- "Cars and Coffee" is a free Saturday morning meet for car enthusiasts to gather and over coffee share their knowledge and enthusiasm.
- Car enthusiasts should head to one of the museum's lawn events. These take place on different Sundays and Saturdays from May through to October.
