Lettuce Lake Park is a popular 240-acre park just outside of Tampa, Florida that is known for the wide range of recreational activities it provides. Its extensive facilities include cycling and hiking trails, a fitness course, a nature center, and a wildlife observation tower. Visitors can also enjoy the park by renting a canoe or a kayak to use to explore the Hillsborough River or by participating in a guided nature tour with a park ranger. There's also a playground, a fishing dock, and plenty of picnic areas, which make it the perfect place to spend a day enjoying the Florida sunshine.
Things to Do
- Rent a canoe or a kayak and spend the day exploring the beautiful Hillsborough River and the hardwood swamp forest that surrounds it.

- Go on a free guided nature tour of the park at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday - a ranger will take you on a fascinating walk along the river and point out native plants and animals. You might even see an alligator!
- Don't miss the interpretive center, which has several interesting exhibits related to the park and its wildlife.
- Take your little one to the playground to play, or attend one of the Park Ranger Nature Educational Programs on weekend mornings.
- Make sure to bring along cash to pay the $2 per car entrance fee.
