Things to See & Do

Longhorn Caverns Insider Tips

  • Tours leave at the top of every hour, and last about 90 minutes.
  • Bring/wear low-heeled shoes with rubber soles as it gets slippery in there and has uneven flooring at times. There are quite a few stairs to climb to descend into the cavern, and the total walk is about 1.5 miles.
  • The Visitor Center opens daily at 9 a.m. every day except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The first tour leaves between 10:00am and 11:00am (call ahead).
  • Busy season is from March through August.
