Activity Overview
Appreciate the Louisville Loop, which is an approximately 100-mile system of trails that surrounds the city and connects various regions, neighborhoods, and points of interest.
Five distinguishable, topographical areas of the city can be seen on a ride around the Loop, including the Ohio River Valley, the Knobs, the Shale Lowland, the Floyd's Fork watershed, and the Limestone Belt. The Loop allows residents and visitors to take in the beauty of these various districts and enjoy the city's diversity.
Things to Do
- Take part in one of the pasttimes available around the loop such as birdwatching, fishing, hiking and rollerblading.
- Take a bike ride from downtown to the McAlpine Locks which provides you with a broad overview of the Loop.
