Consider spicing up mealtime with a fun treat after everyone eats. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, it is always a good time to schedule some family fun and excitement. Every once and while, mix things up a bit by announcing that it is Lucky Chair Day! Lucky Chair Day is simply a spectacular way of announcing a special family activity or treat or leadership opportunity for a lucky family member.
If you have picky eaters, announcing lucky chair day at the start of the meal might work to your advantage to encourage the kids to meet their eating goals. Otherwise you can announce it at the end of the meal as well. In either scenario, the result is the same. Upon completion of the meal at hand, everyone looks under their chair to see if his or her chair is the lucky chair.
Materials Needed
- Chairs around the table
- Slips of Paper
- Tape
- A pen
How to Do It
- Before mealtime, write one special activity or treat on a slip of paper and tape it to the bottom of one of the chairs at the table.
- Either before or after the meal, announce that it is Lucky Chair Day and explain that a special note is hidden under one or more family chairs.
- When the meal is complete and everyone pitches in to clean up, everyone can take a peek under their chairs.
- The lucky winner takes the note off of the bottom of the chair and reads it aloud to the family. Here are some fun ideas below.
