Activity Overview

Lynden sculpture garden is an outdoor garden in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it is a 40-acre sculpture garden located at West brown Deer road. The sculptures in the garden were amassed by Margret Bradley in the 1960s and 1970s, the Lynden estate was owned by Margaret and her husband. The sculpture garden houses more than 50 sculptures by many noted artists, many events are also hosted in the garden. There are lakes, ponds, plants and flowers in the garden with wildlife to spot, including geese, ducks and turtles. The sculpture garden is open all through the year, and is closed on Thursdays, visitors can take a guided or self-guided tour.

Things to Do

  • The sculpture garden is a unique place to visit and a must visit for art lovers and students, the collection includes a bronze queen of Sheba statue by Russian artist Alexander Archipenko.
  • Other collections include rhythm in space sculpture by Max Bill, the sculpture was created in 1967, fiber glass sculptures by Samuel Buri and many more.
  • There are some unique aluminum sculptures by Linda Howard, and steel sculptures by Alexander Liberman and Heinz Mack.
  • Current exhibition on view is by Kim Cridler, her exhibit displays many unique steel sculptures.
  • The sculpture garden hosts many events including the weekly art drop-in activity for children, there is plenty of art making for children in the ages 6 to 12.
  • There are events like story times, Tai Chi, and family activities in the sculpture garden, the spring time activity will teach you how do birds make nest for their young ones.
