Activity Overview

Maggie Daley Park is a small lakefront park that offers plenty of space for children to play and offers recreation for the whole family. The park is located on the area of former Daley Bicentennial plaza site in Chicago, IL. The park has many recreational amenities such as a playground and skating. The new park space was completed and renovated in 2009, the park site was named in honor of Chicago's first lady Maggie C. Daley. She was a driving force behind Chicago's many cultural and social developments. The park is open to visitors all through the year and general admission to the park is free.

Things to Do

  • Visit the Maggie Daley Park for a nice family day out, kids can play in the play garden that has a metal play ship with a light house tower and a whale.
  • During the Summer children can play in the watering hole that has spray features, the enchanted forest that can be explored by the whole family.
  • There are rolling lawn slopes to play around and the slide crater is a suspension bridge that leads to many slides.
  • Older children can do wall climbing, the supervised climbing area has instructors, so beginners can also enjoy.
  • Enjoy ice skating in the skating ribbon arena, it has free admission and affordable skate rentals.
