Activity Overview
McKinney Falls State Park is a popular recreation area on the outskirts of Austin, Texas that is named after Thomas F. McKinney, a local rancher who owned the land in the late 1800s. Since 1976, the land has been used as a state park where visitors can enjoy activities like hiking, fishing, mountain biking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. It is known for its many beautiful natural features, which include waterfalls and "Old Baldy", one of the oldest cypress trees in Texas, which is thought to be over 500 years old.
