Activity Overview
Designed and opened to mark the turn of the new millennium, Plymouth's tranquil Millennium Garden is within the grounds of the Plymouth Creek Center. This is a beautiful area to take a bit of time out and it makes a lovely spot for a walk with your family.
Things to Do
- The Millennium Park is full of gorgeous pathways and flowers. Nature is in abundance here and it makes a spectacular setting in which to go for a walk and think.
- There is a small creek, fountains, benches and calm music playing lightly through hidden speakers all of which invite you to take a moment of contemplation out from your busy schedule.
- If you have a baby this would be a nice place for a walk while it is also a great place for a picnic.
- If your kids get a bit bored bring them to the Garden's labyrinth where they can run around and try to find the exit.
Millennium Garden Insider Tips
- The Millennium Garden is available for private rental if you would like to host an event there. It is a popular location to hold wedding services while the bushes, paths, fountains and pond provide ample opportunities for photos. Full details of the cost of renting the site and what services can be provided during your event can be found here.
- If you enjoy the park and would like to contribute to its maintenance they run a "Buy A Brick" program that anyone can support. Essentially you pay $175 for a brick which you can inscribe with a message of your choice. This brick will be paved into one of the garden's walkways while the money will go towards the paving of these paths and the park's general upkeep. Details of this program and the form to apply to the program can be downloaded here.
