Activity Overview
Minuteman Bikeway/trail is one of the nicest amenities in Cambridge, Arlington and Lexington. It is a 10-11 miles historic paved path, rail trail that takes you along a scenic trip from Arlington, through Lexington to Bedford, Massachusetts. Here you will pass by Revolutionary War heritage, the old Lexington & West Cambridge Railroad Line, Sly Pond and other historical parks and monuments on the way. Its also has connecting trails that can lead you Somerville to downtown Concord.
Things to Do
Minuteman trail is a great and scenic trip to bike. It is full of history for everyone. It Features Historic Walking Areas, and Biking Trails. The best thing is that there is an interesting information on the stopping points on the trail. It’s a wonderful trail for skating or biking as this is nicely shaded, minimum sun burning and wonderful spots to stop for ice cream or coffee.
Overall the place is green cool and so pleasant to hangout. There are fantastic scenery and a free water fountain in Arlington. At incredible speed the overhanging greenery is beautifully flowing. There’s plenty of free parking along the street of the bike path.
Minuteman trail Insider Tips
- Motor vehicles are not allowed on the trail. This historic trail has paved roads.
- During peak hours, such as mid morning on a beautiful Saturday, the place gets overcrowded; there are lots of strollers, kids, dogs, elderly folks enjoying the day.
- On a pleasant spring day, there is no better place to be in Massachusetts.
- If you're a runner or a walker, be sure to stay to the right and always be aware of the bikers.
