Known to tourists as the biggest fist bump photo opportunity, the Monument to Joe Louis named as "The Fist" is an eye-catching sculpture built to commemorate the strength of Joe Louis, both in his punches inside the ring and in his fight against racial injustice. The 24-ft long sculpture suspended mid-air in a pyramid structure was first installed in 1986.
