The 620-foot tall waterfall that is two-tiered is fed by underground springs from Larch mountain, snow melt and rainwater. The waterfall is highest during spring and winter. The fall is a year-round attraction, there are many hiking trails nearby for an outdoor adventure, plus a restaurant, visitor center, Coffee bar and a gift shop. The falls are a popular attraction for the families with nature trails and adventures.

Things to Do

  • Take a 5-minute walk from the parking area and enjoy breathtaking views of the magnificent falls, the tallest in Oregon, a fall that doesn't even dry up in the Summer. Enjoy beautiful and awesome views of the falls from the viewing area located in the rock face.
  • For a more closer look, hike up to the Benson bridge, the bridge gives a perfect view of the first tier of the falls. The historic bridge is named after businessman, Simon Benson.
  • Visit the beautiful and historic Multnomah Falls lodge that was built in 1925 to serve the tourists. The lodge houses a gift shop, a restaurant, and an information center.
  • The more adventure loving folks can reach up to the top of the falls by hiking another mile up from the Benson Bridge. Though, this steep and uneven trail is not recommended for families.
  • Hike at the nearby trails for a perfect family outing.
  • The restaurant at the lodge offers tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The restaurant focuses on using fresh local ingredients to make your meals tasty and healthy. The restaurant is open year-round.

  • The gift shop stocks a variety of games, puzzles and toys for the kids.
  • You can also take a hiking trip to the nearby Wahkeena Fall.
