Activity Overview
Enjoy creative approaches to Science and fun at the Myseum Discovery museum located in Town and Country, Missouri. This unique and exciting venue makes cleanliness and educational fun top priorities and focuses heavily on Science and Fine Arts exhibits for children. Guests will enjoy exhibits that explore matter and energy, motion and force, air and water flow, the universe, and more.
Things to See & Do
- Explore the many Science exhibits on display. Guests will enjoy acting as paleontologists and digging fossils, Exprimenting with facial recognition software, using an air vortex cannon and experiencing wind tubes, explore engineering on the magnetic ball wall and much much more.
- Interact with the many Fine Arts Exhibits. Visitors will enjoy playing the musical trash cans, experimenting with the laser harp,playing the exotic instrument called the Amadinda used by tribes in Uganda, and explore the stonaphone and wrenchaphone which will undoubtedly be new to guests
- Magnetic Bridge - Children learn about magnetism, plus they have fun playing in the magnetic sandbox.
- Opposing Magnets – Where children will push the magnets down and they will spring upwards.
- Shadow Wall and Light Writer - The Shadow Room "freezes” movement in time against a phosphorescent wall. You can also use glow pens to doodle on the walls.
- Falling Washers – discover gravity and friction. Watch and listen as the washers fall down and spin.
- Catenary Arch – discover engineering and gravity. You and your child can work as a team to put together large foam blocks to create a 5-foot tall arch.
- Floating Balls- Learn the Bernoulli’s Principle by showing how lightweight balls can hover in the air in the presence of a powerful airflow.
- Vertical Wind Tubes - The Wind Tube lets children use their imaginations to build flying machines. Using the tried and true method of if at first you don’t succeed try try again. This interactive exhibit will be a favorite.
Myseum Insider Tips
- You are allowed to bring in your own food. I recommend doing so and having a picnic or snack planned into your day,
- Expect to spend 2-3 hours here. This not an all day activity.
- The cost is a bit steep per child and adult are also charged admission at a discounted rate.
- Wear or bring socks. There is a new radar slide and bounce house exhibit that requires socks to participate.
- This museum seems geared to the 8 and under crowd.
- Sock are required to be worn at all times while at play
