  • Bring along a camera in order to take photos of the coast and the diverse marine life.

Nahant Beach Reservation Insider Tips

  • If you need a shower to wash off the sand before heading home for the day, you can find them near the Ward Bathhouse.
  • Be prepared to pay the daily parking fee of between $5 and $7 per car.
  • Consider bringing along a pair of binoculars and a bird guide in order to introduce your child to bird watching.
  • If you prefer to visit beaches with lifeguard stations, visit Long Beach during July and August when lifeguards are on patrol. There are no lifeguards at King's Beach.

This is a really nice beach. The water is very clean with great, manageable surf, and little to no rocks or seaweed. The entry to the water is flat so it's great for all ages. Parking is just $5, but it tends to fill up quickly, so plan to arrive early on weekends and by 10:30am during the week to ensure you get a spot. The beach is long and somewhat thin at high tide. There are a couple if bathrooms (could be a trek depending where you park); and a very nice Boardwalk. No real concessions here so best to bring lunch and drinks with you. Waves are great for boogie boarding but not fierce like some places. Pleasantly surprised by this beach!
