Activity Overview
The National Museum of Mathematics, also known as MoMath, is the only museum in North America that is dedicated to mathematics. Located in the heart of Manhattan, this unique museum features a wide variety of interactive exhibits that are designed to teach the public about mathematics and its importance in society. While math is not always perceived to be a fun subject, especially for children, a family visit to MoMath can open your eyes to a fascinating side of math you've never seen before as you view its exhibits and participate in its fun hands-on activities.
Things to Do
- Explore all the great exhibits at MoMath with your child - while they're interesting for visitors of all ages, their activities are primarily designed with 4th through 8th graders in mind. Learn about fractals, patterns, shapes, motion, and more!
- Check out the fascinating Robot Swarm exhibit, where you can see dozens of tiny glowing robots that interact with you based on mathematical rules.
- Attend the weekend PolyPals event with your little one - this special program designed for toddlers and preschoolers focuses on making math fun through storytelling, songs, games, and activities.
