Activity Overview
The Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City is located on the campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. It houses a wonderful selection of nostalgic toys and impressive hand crafted miniature models. This is all set in a wonderful Italianate style Mansion dating back to the start of the 20th Century which makes the visit even more special. The Museum is closed for renovations for the entirety of 2014 but is scheduled to re-open in early 2015 with a new heating and cooling system and updated exhibits for the public to enjoy.
Things to Do
- Children and adults alike are sure to be amazed by many of the pieces on display here. The Museum's collection has over 300,000 individual miniatures and toys which are imaginatively laid out over the 33,000 square feet of exhibit space.
- The detail in many of these pieces is truly impressive and the Museum gives you the opportunity to get right up close to admire the craftsmanship and artistry on show.

The Museum is a non-profit organization so any monetary hel people can provide goes a long way. It's super easy to donate on their website and you can sign up for a membership there too. Of course if you would prefer to offer your time you can volunteer as a docent to ensure the enjoyment of visitors continues at the Museum.
