Nauset Beach is a popular public beach in Orleans, Massachusetts, which is located just 2 hours away from Boston on Cape Cod. This beautiful 10-mile stretch of sandy beaches is known for its gorgeous vistas, especially at sunrise. Families visiting the beach can enjoy a wide range of activities, including swimming, surfing, fishing, sunbathing, and boogie boarding.
Things to Do
- Cool off in the summer heat by going for a swim in the ocean! Lifeguards are provided in the summertime in order to help keep swimmers safe.
- Bring along a surfboard or boogie board and enjoy riding the waves.
- Go fishing! Nauset Beach is known as a great site for bass fishing.
- Keep an eye out for seals swimming in the ocean!

- Save money by bringing along your own food and drinks to eat at one of the picnic tables or on the sand instead of buying food from the snack bar.
- Don't miss the free outdoor concerts held in the beach's gazebo every Monday and Thursday night in July!
- While there is a large parking lot, it's always a good idea to arrive early in the day since the beach is very popular and its lot does occasionally fill up on nice days.
- If you prefer to avoid crowds, try to visit the beach on weekdays! The beach is also generally less crowded in June and August than in July.
