The waters around Newport in California's Orange County provide an excellent to see all kinds of sea life. Things to Do
- Newport Landing Whale Watching's standard two and a half hour tour departs three times a day all year round. If you take the trip between December and April you may see the California Grey Whale during its annual migration along the Orange County coastline. If you & the kids want to see finbacks or giant blue whales then between May and November is the time to take a trip.
- They also offer a full day trip around Catalina Island. This tour sets out at 8 am and gives you great viewing opportunities for many different types of whales, dolphins and other marine life. Halfway through you will be dropped off on Catalina Island for two and a half hours before returning back to Newport at 6 pm.
