Create colorful and decorative placemats out of Perler Beads in a few easy steps. Placemats add character and fun to mealtime and make cleanup a snap. This craft can be created in a short amount of time and is easy for all ages to enjoy both during the process and the use afterward.
Adult supervision is required for this craft because this craft is actually baked in the oven. I also always recommend having plenty of ventilation when doing any kind of plastic melting.
Materials Needed
- Perler Beads
- Cookie Spray
- A 13 x 9 baking dish like Pyrex
How to Make It
- Spray a 13 x 9 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Pour Perler beads into the baking dish and press down on the with your fingers to spread them out into one layer on the bottom of the pan. You can also create a pattern if you would like to put more time and precision into your placemat.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes, checking frequently as all ovens vary.
- Take the 13 x 9 baking dish out of the oven and allow to cool.
- Remove your placemat from the baking dish when completely cool.
