Activity Overview
Car enthusiasts will be in heaven with the many rare and collectible cars on display in the 300,000 square foot space of the Peterson Automotive Museum. You are invited to come and learn about the evolution of the automobile through interactive and interesting exhibits and dioramas. They have permanent exhibits along with others that revolve on a regular basis which, along with regular events and programs, ensures that there is always something to keep you interested.
Things to Do
- The Museum is home to a number of fascinating exhibits that shed light on different aspects of the automobile's history. The Hollywood Gallery: Cars of Film and Television Exhibit explores how the histories of cars and the American movie industry have been intertwined since the early in the 20th Century. Cars have featured in movies while they are also important behind the scenes and of course have always been an important part of the superstar lifestyle of Hollywood's elite.
- The Discovery Center is designed specifically with children in mind. It offers them many interactive displays to learn all about the science and the culture of the automobile throughout the years. They can race model cars, experiment with automotive technology and build their own city. You can even get a cute photo of them posing on one of the Center's vehicles like a Ford Model T or an Indianapolis racer.
Peterson Automotive Museum Insider Tips
- The first Saturday of every month is the Museum's Discovery Day. You can come along between 11 am and 2 pm to take part in family friendly arts and crafts activities.
