Activity Overview

Phillips Arena is an indoor stadium that is just as important for sports as it is for concerts and entertainment events in Atlanta, Georgia. The Arena is currently home to the Atlanta Hawks basketball team and the Atlanta Dream women's basketball team. For a number of years it also served as the home to the Atlanta Thrashers hockey team until 2011 when they moved to Winnipeg. Aside from regular Hawks games the Arena is also regularly used for concerts by world famous performers and for other entertainment purposes. Its capacity for basketball is just over 18,000 while for entertainment the capacity is around 21,000.

Things to Do

• A trip to see the city's beloved Hawks or The Dream is memorable especially for people coming from out of town. Atlanta's fans are passionate and love their team; plus there is barely a bad seat in the house. That is a particularly big plus for the concerts that regularly take place here.
• Former performers who have graced the stage here include Bruce Springsteen, Paul Mc Cartney, Rolling Stones, U2 and non-musical shows by Oprah Winfrey, Harlem Globetrotters, Disney on Ice and Katt Williams.
