Activity Overview
Pilgrim monument is the tallest granite structure in the US and commemorates the landing of May flower ship in Provincetown, Massachusetts in 1620. Visitors can have a heavy work out by climbing to the top of the monument by using 116 stairs, but the effort is worth the views you get at the top of the monument. The province town museum displays exhibits on local history. There is a Shallop cafe and gift store on site. The monument is open to tours April through November.

- See the 252 feet tall tower that was founded in 1892, it was built to commemorate the landing of the May flower pilgrims in 1620.
- At the top you can get amazing views of the surrounding cape cod shore and Provincetown.
- The museum shows history of the arrival of the pilgrims, early days and history of Provincetown, and a diorama showing where and when the May flower compact was signed.
- The museum also displays tools, arrow heads and images of the local Native American tribes.
- The exhibits display the history of province town with artifacts, antique furniture, tools, toys, clothing and town's first 1830s fire engine.
- Visit the gift store to buy shirts for adults and kids, caps, history books and more.

- Stairs to the top can be climbed by people of all age groups.
- There is a fun, family-friendly scavenger hunt that you can do at the base of the monument
- The views at the top are amazing - especially on a clear day. You can really see the landscape of the outer cape and even across the Harbor to Boston.
