Activity Overview
Plant and grow a pizza garden in your own backyard. Get the kids excited about eating their vegetables with this whimsical pizza inspired garden. Many of the traditional plants that you would grow in your garden anyway could be allocated into this fun pizza garden. Some of these plant varieties include but are not limited to: tomatoes, peppers, onions, broccoli, basil, oregano, and parsley.
Children will enjoy tending to the plants within the pizza slice shaped wedges. It is a great way to get them interested in gardening and to start them off with their own defined gardening space. The end result is when they can reap what they have sown. At harvest time, work together to gather the ingredients from the pizza garden and make your own veggie pizza for dinner. Everyone will feel great that they all pitched in.
