The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium offers a wide range of educational adventures for children of all ages. These include summer camps, day-long Discover the Nature programs, camps for young children, Zoo After Dark programs, and more.
This is a great place for the kids to engage with animals and many hands-on activities are available. An example is a camel ride, where the little ones can have an up-close experience with camels.

- The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is home to the Red Wolf Picnic Site, so pack the lunch for the entire family before your visit
- Book a group tour of the zoo and listen to an expert staff biologist introducing one of the Zoo's resident animals. This is a great opportunity for the kids to learn more about animals such as the Eagle Owl, Radiated Tortoise, Bald Eagle, Green Iguana and many more others.
