Having a clean car is nearly impossible when you have kids!
Give yourself some slack and know that with transporting kids, sports equipment and sometimes eating breakfast, lunch or dinner between activities, the car will inevitably get 'trashed' as my husband puts it. Here is a quick list to get you started on a clean car for this weeks' activities.
Supplies
- Static dust cloths.
- Windex or professional glass cleaner (we love the streak-free cleaner, Sprayway).
- Paper Towels.
- Leather cleaning wipes.
- Disinfecting wipes.
- Trash bag.
- Laundry basket for loose items.
- Access to a vacuum. Either one at your home that can be used for this outside job or car-wash facility.
Car Cleaning Checklist
- Remove all the trash. Take a look in all the seat pockets, trunk and cup holders.
- Remove all items that don't belong in the car. Put items in a laundry basket until you have time to put these items away. I'm often finding jackets, missing mittens, and sports equipment in my car!
- Windex and clean all the glass. This will make your car smell so good and the removal of fingerprints and grime will be an instant improvement.
- Vacuum the car. If you have a local place with heavy duty vacuums this is one trip worth your time. Pull out floor mats and truck liner and shake to remove dirt. I like to wipe these down with a bit of cleaner too.
- Got leather seats? Try using convenient leather cleaning wipes. These work great!
- Clean all the hard surfaces of your car. Using the static dust cloths wipe down the console, cup holders, and dashboard.
- Disinfect. Clean your steering wheel and door handles with a disinfectant wipe.
