River Parks

Activity Overview

River Parks consists of over 26 miles of paved trails along the beautiful Arkansas River in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition to walking, running, cycling, or rollerblading on the trails, visitors can enjoy scenic views of the river, explore a large collection of bronze sculptures, and view the wide variety of plants, flowers, and animals that live in the area. River Parks also features playgrounds, picnic areas, the River SkatePark, and facilities for geocaching, fishing, rowing, kayaking, and disc golf.

Things to Do

• Go for a walk along the scenic trails that wind their way along the Arkansas River. One of the most popular places to walk is the Pedestrian Bridge near 29th and Riverside Drive, a beautiful wooden-deck bridge that was formerly used by the Midland Valley Railroad. It provides excellent views of the Tulsa skyline.
• Head to Zink Dam on the Arkansas River and go fishing for catfish and striped bass! The nearby Pedestrian Bridge is one of the city's most popular fishing sites.
• Check out the 41st Street Plaza, a family-friendly area that has a large playground, picnic areas, and water fountains and splash pads where children can cool off in the summer heat.
• Take your teen to the River SkatePark, which features steel jumps, ramps, and a seating area for spectators.

• If you're looking for a great place to take photos, head to BOK Plaza at 71st and Riverside Drive, which is known for its beautiful sandstone waterfall.
• Avid hikers should visit the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area, which has dirt trails that lead to beautiful panoramic views of the city and the river.
