I love the Lysol no touch handsoap system for the kitchen since I cook a lot of chicken and meat and I like the convenience of not touching the soap dispenser. However, at $3.99 a pop to buy the 8 oz soap refills, I had to figure out another way to save money. I found a trick - keep 2 of those refill containers and buy any brand of liquid soap in a 32 oz refill bottle (which are about $4.99). Take an empty Lysol soap refill container and pop open the cap by slipping a butter knife underneath the cover and gently wiggle it around until the cap pops off. It will take some practice but once you have mastered it, it is not a problem. Use the soap to refill your container and just pop the cover back on and pop it back into the system. I typically keep 2 refill containers on hand - one is in the system and I have the other one refilled in the cabinet ready to go when I need it. By doing this, you are not only reducing the amount of plastic being used and wasted but also saving money.
