Activity Overview

The Seattle Children's Theatre aim to make the wonders of the stage available to children of all ages. Through their drama school and regular performances they involve kids as both participants and spectators of theatre. There concentration in production is on original works which are often toured around the country. Keep an eye on their upcoming shows and you will also find plenty of adaptations of old classics too! Shows usually take place on Friday to Sunday evening with performances sometimes popping up on Thursdays too.

Things to Do

• Bring along one of your kids to a performance at the Theatre. Their shows are always super fun for kids and are designed and prepared so well that they are usually suprisingly entertaining for adults too. It makes for the perfect introduction to the theatre for young children; who knows it may even spark a lifelong passion for the performing arts!
• The Theatre runs various programs for children from its Drama School. These classes run weekly during Spring, Summer and Winter sessions. They also provide classes for the school breaks if you want to get the kids off your hands for a few hours each day.
• For more serious actors from the 10th grade up the Theatre runs the intensive six week Young Actor Institute. This fantastic course covers almost all aspects of the art of stage acting including movement, singing, voice training, improvisation, dancing and auditioning.
