Cruise the Kentucky river and explore its beauty on the Dixie Belle that can seat up to 115 passengers. Bring your children to this wonderful cruise trip that will both be educational and adventurous. The river cruise operates seasonally April through November.

Things to Do

• The Dixie belle river cruise takes you through the historical river Kentucky, the one-hour narrated tour describes the history and importance of the river through times.
• Learn the importance of the river to the shakers; a source of trading and livelihood, pass under the historic high bridge that was built in 1877.
• The captain on board will narrate the cultural and historical history of the area in an engaging and conversational manner that kids of all ages would enjoy.
• Tell your kids to spot for limestone cliffs, water falls and wildlife while cruising, they will easily spot some turtles and blue herons.
• Snacks are available on board.You can bring picnic lunch and have a picnic beside the river.
• You must purchase tickets at the admission booth of the carpenter's shop craft store at shaker village.
