Activity Overview
Have fun with this fun game of Tic Tac Toe that has a new flair. The concept stays the same as traditional Tic Tac Toe but the board is a bit different and the original drawing board can be used over and over again.
Players use coins of differing denominations to make their moves and instead of placing their mark inside of the squares, they place their coins on the dots where the lines meet. Play several rounds and the best out of the number of rounds becomes the overall winner.
Materials Needed
- 10 coins (5 of one kind and 5 of another)
- Pencil
- Paper
- 2 players
How to Play
- Each player should take 5 like coins. Example: one player has the nickles and the other player has the pennies.
- The youngest player should go first.
- Take your pencil and draw a square of dots that are connected by lines like in the photo above. The square should be three dots by three dots with a dot in the middle. The lines should connect each dot around the edges to make a square and then each dot should have a line drawn to the center dot.
- Take turns placing one coin at a time on the dots where the lines meet.
- The first player to get three like coins in a row in a straight or diagonal pattern is declared the winner.
- Play again and again on the same drawn board.
