Activity Overview
The Park consists of Half Moon and Cressy's beaches. Half Moon is a lovely small beach ideal for families with children. Cressy's Beach is a rocky, more natural beach - a great spot for hunting for sea glass. In addition to the beaches, the park features playing fields, a large gazebo for concerts, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a some cool American history.
Things to Do
Stage Fort Park is a great spot to spend the day with the family. There is a nice beach and walking trails, and playground for little ones.
Enjoy the abundant grassy fields and open spaces - there is lots of room to play outdoor games. Picnic tables are available.
Explore the enormous boulders & rocky paths, a historic fort with cannons, and great views of Gloucester Harbor's fishing and sailing boats.
The park also features a bandstand with occasional evening concerts.
Stage Fort Park Insider Tips
- The Maritime Trail that starts at the park provides a great walking/biking path along the bay and will take you to the famous Fisherman statue.
- There are Bathrooms with changing stalls and a shower.
- Dogs are welcome in the park.
- The Cupboard offers ice cream and is a local favorite for fried clams.
