Activity Overview

Talcott Mountain State Park is a picturesque 574-acre state park located just a few miles outside of Hartford, Connecticut. Its most popular attraction is the Heublein Tower, a summer home constructed in the early 1900s that is now a museum which provides spectacular views of the surrounding Farmington River Valley. Visitors can also enjoy hiking trails that are home to a wide array of wildlife, as well as picnic areas with grills that are perfect for a summer barbecue.

• Visit Heublein Tower, a local architectural landmark that provides stunning panoramic views of the Connecticut countryside from its observation tower.
• Explore the historic home and museum! It is accessible using the 1.25-mile Tower Trail, which takes approximately 40 minutes to walk.
• Go for a family hike along one of the park's trails, which wind through fields of wildflowers and areas that are home to deer, rabbits, woodpeckers, foxes, bald eagles, and turkey vultures.
