Activity Overview
The Adventure Park at Sandy River Retreat is the largest aerial adventure park in Virginia. This thrilling attraction features over 60 obstacles and 17 different zip lines that families can use to glide through the treetops on a sunny summer day. Other attractions include log cabin rentals, canoe and kayak rentals to float down the Appomattox River, and bicycle rentals in order to explore the 31-mile High Bridge Trail, which features one of the longest bridges in the United States!
Things to Do
- Spend 3 thrilling hours exploring the huge array of obstacles and zip lines provided by the Adventure Park's aerial course!
- Rent a canoe or kayak and spend a few hours floating down the Appomattox River into the heart of downtown Farmville, Virginia.
- If your family likes cycling, consider renting bikes in order to ride along the historic High Bridge Trail, which includes crossing the Appomattox River using one of the longest bridges in the country.
The Adventure Park at Sandy River Retreat Insider Tips
- Before you arrive, make sure everyone in your group meets their participant requirements, including a minimum age of 7 years, minimum height of 48" tall, and weight between 60 and 265 pounds.
- Make sure to wear closed-toe shoes in order to explore the course! It's also important not to wear loose clothing.
- If you're wanting to enjoy life in the countryside for a few days, consider renting one of the log cabins at the Sandy River Retreat, which allows you to receive discounted admission to the Adventure Park.
