The Strong National Museum of Play is an interactive museum in Rochester, New York. It is the only museum in the world that is dedicated to the history and study of play, and features a wide variety of interactive exhibits that make parts of it resemble a children's museum despite its historical focus. In addition to featuring impressive collections of historical items related to play, it showcases exhibits that encourage children to play and learn while exploring a butterfly garden, wandering the aisles of a grocery store, pretending to be a superhero, walking through a life-size storybook, and much more.

Things to Do

• Visit the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden, the only year-round indoor butterfly garden in the area, where you can walk through a rainforest filled with a thousand beautiful butterflies.
• Watch your child use their superhero skills in the American Comic Book Heroes exhibit, where they can visit the fun-filled Super Powers School.
• Take your little one to the Reading Adventureland exhibit, where they can walk along the Yellow Brick Road through a life-size storybook and meet fairy tale characters in the forest.
• Check out the aquariums, where you can see colorful fish swimming through coral reefs and sea anemone.

• Visit between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday to take advantage of the matinee admission price, which costs $5 less than normal admission prices.
