Activity Overview
One of the best places in Knoxville to go for a run, The Track is actually one of the largest running clubs in the country. This club encourages children, teenagers and adult to take up running and has a large number of athletic programs in place. Whether you are looking for a new activity that allows you to remain fit or want to take part in a regional or national competition, The Track is the place to go.
As of 2015, The Track has approximately 2,000 members. You do not actually need to be a member to go for a run there, and you can choose from multiple locations as well. Some of the most popular running locations offered by The Knoxville Track Club include Cherokee Blvd in Sequoyah Hills, Tom Black Track, Third Creek Greenway, and more.
Things to Do
- Go for a run on the Lakeshore Greenway, which follows the old route of the Cross County course of the University of Tennessee. This route consists of 2.2 mile asphalt loop circles.
- Sign up for one of the multiple community projects in place at The Track.
- Volunteer to keep the tracks in tip top condition and promote a healthy lifestyle in Knoxville.
