Activity Overview
The U.S. Mint, located on Independence Mall, is an interesting take-in, where one can see the inner workings of the facility responsible for at least half the country's coins in circulation and a good number of its commemorative medals.
Behind glass walls, the manufacturing process can be observed from above. Visitors will also learn of the mint's history and have the opportunity to inspect early mint and coining equipment as well as rare, historic coins.
