Activity Overview
About 15 minutes south of Burlington, VT lies Shelburne and The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, a fun-filled destination for kids of all ages.
The factory, set in the midst of Vermont's scenic Green Mountains, demonstrates how the Vermont Teddy Bear Company became the largest maker of hand-crafted teddy bears in America.
30-minute tours of the factory provide a "behind-the-scenes view...from cutting and stitching to stuffing and sewing." Visitors will receive history from the tour guide and be able to see the sewing machines and all equipment needed to manufacture these endearing bears.

- Plan to spend about an hour and fifteen minutes to get the full experience of factory and shop.
- Tours fill up quickly during the summer months.
- Production areas are not in operation after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and not at all on weekends. The production crew also takes a lunch break each weekday from 12:00 p.m. until 12:30 p.m.
- Cost of the tour is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for children 12 and under.
