Activity Overview
Tip-A-Canoe offer canoeing and kayaking trips of Tennessee's Harpeth River to all abilities from beginners to experts. The Harpeth River is a beautiful route that offers an abundance of spectacular scenery and paddling along in a kayak or a canoe is the perfect way to get to know it. It makes for a great day out not just for nature enthusiasts but for anyone looking to take a break from life's daily stresses. The fact you get a little work out is an added bonus!
Things to Do
- There are a variety of routes available to would-be kayakers. The shortest trip is 3 miles and should only take about an hour. Similar routes are offered for beginners and small children so parents and novices alike should have nothing to worry about when making a reservation. More challenging and lengthier routes are also on offer for more serious canoers. The longest one day tours come in at around 13 miles and shouldn't take more than about 5 hours to complete.
- Overnight tours are available for those who don't mind roughing it. The camping ground is strictly "primitive camping" as the company's website phrases it. That means you will have to do without water, electricity and restrooms; all you get is a patch of grass! Still that means a quiet night under the stars with no distractions from the stillness of nature, though obviously it's not for everyone.
