Activity Overview
Tobogganing at the Cleveland Metroparks is a long running holiday tradition for local people. Every year during the winter months thousands of people come to fly down one of the two 700 foot toboggan chutes at the Metropark's Chalet. This is the only public toboggan chute in the state of Ohio, which goes some way to explaining its popularity.
Things to Do
- Tobogganing is something everyone can enjoy, young and old. Kids love flying fast down the chute until they arrive at the bottom while parents have a great time watching their kids kept happy. It makes a fun day out for the whole family then! If it all gets a little chilly for you remember you can always take a time out in the adjacent where there is a wood burning fireplace and a snack bar.
Toboggan Chutes at the Cleveland Metroparks Insider Tips
- You can pay for toboggan rides individually however it makes more sense and works out cheaper after only a few rides, to buy a day pass.
- Wrap up warm for the cold winter weather. Young kids especially should be well guarded against the cold; that means hats, scarfs, jackets and gloves!
- It used to be that every time you wanted to go for a ride down one of the chutes you would have to lug your heavy toboggan up 112 steps to get to the top. Thankfully a few years ago however Metroparks installed a toboggan lift to take the load off as you tramp up to the top. So now you can concentrate more on having a good time!
