Activity Overview
Create abstract art simply by tracing craft sticks onto a piece of paper and coloring them. When you trace in random overlapping patterns all over a piece of paper and you will find that the intersecting lines that form other shapes within the craft sticks themselves. Color each segment a different color and leave some segments plain. Children of all ages will have fun practicing their tracing skills and filling in the newly formed shapes to create a vibrant work of art.
Materials Needed
- Craft Sticks of all sizes
- Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
- Paper
How to Make It
- Take your drawing utensils of choice and trace craft sticks in a random and overlapping manner all of the paper. Use different colors randomly for each stick tracing.
- Use your artistic talent to randomly color the different shapes that are created along the craft sticks now that the lines intersect with one another. Feel free to leave some segments blank.
