Activity Overview
Children of all ages will have fun using trial and error to master this fun tabletop activity. This activity uses three easily accessible items that you likely have around the house right now. The Unbelievable Utensil Flip Activity is mess free and is easy to master with a little bit of ingenuity and perseverance.
The object of this boredom buster is to hit the fork and cause a domino type reaction which causes the spoon to flip up in the air and land inside of the mug. This will take some trial and error to get it just right, but that is all part of the fun. Try setting up a couple of setups and have a challenge against another participant.
Materials Needed
- A mug
- A plastic spoon
- A plastic fork
How to Set Up and Play
- Simply set the mug on the table.
- Behind the mug, lay a spoon down face up with the handle end closest to the mug but not touching it.
- Behind that spoon in a direct line, place a plastic fork in the same manner. You will need to play around with the location of the utensils to make this activity work. Trial and error is what it is all about here.
- When you think you have it lined up, use your finger to press down hard against the fork prongs. This should send the spoon flying into the air toward the mug.
- Keep trying until you master the right layout which will make the spoon land inside of the mug.
