Commemorating the men and women who fought in the Vietnam War, the Uss Turner Joy (dd-951) Us Naval Destroyer Museum Ship allows the entire family to step abroad this historic ship and explore it at their own pace.
Discover the USS Turner Joy and learn more about the way it operated at sea for more than two decades. You can see the pilothouse and the engine room, as well as the ship's guns and crew's quarters.
The USS Turner Joy is located on the Bremerton Boulevard, just minutes away from the Lone Sailor Memorial, the Washington State Ferry and a wide range of parks and restaurants.
Things to Do
- Do not miss a visit to the guns area, where the kids can actually go into the gun turrets
- Group tours are available, which can give you an excellent opportunity to learn more about he history of the ship and the battles she experienced
- Go into the engine room to see how the ship was actually put in motion
- You can also visit the torpedo launchers and learn more about how they worked

- Be careful at the ladders going to the crew's quarters, as they may be a bit steep
