Van Sickle Bi-State Park as the name indicates is a park located at the border of California and Nevada, the park gives wonderful views of Lake Tahoe. The park has trails for walkers, bikers and novice hikers, the park is a beautiful site for nature lovers. Most area of the park is located in Nevada, the park in South Lake Tahoe can be accessed via highway 50. The park is a perfect place for families looking for outdoor recreation and picnicking. The park is open everyday in the Summer and fall seasons from Dawn till dusk. There is no fee to enter and no fee to park.

Things to Do

  • The park preserves the farm of Henry Van Sickle that was built in the 1860s, visitors to the park can see the historic farm barn.
  • The California side of the park features historic barn, a log cabin and house keeping cabins.
  • If you are looking for easy to moderate hike, hike the Van Sickle connector trail, you can hike it up to 1.7 miles and visit a beautiful waterfall.
  • Catch gorgeous views of lake Tahoe and surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains as you hike.
  • Extra adventurous people and novice hikers can hike strenuous and longer hiking trail up to the Monument peak.
  • There are picnic tables and restrooms.
