Activity Overview
If you're looking for a nice hike near the city, drive over to Vickery Creek Trail. The 6.3-mile trail is part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and is ideal for beginners to average hikers. The scenery is picturesque and if you take the west bank of Vickery Creek, you will be taken to the ruins of the old Roswell mill. Get a dose of history too as you read on the descriptions and signages at the mill.
Things to Do
- Go for a hike at Vickery Creek Trails. You may also take your dear pet with you as long as your dog is on a leash. Bring a camera and take wonderful photos of the scenery and the falls that resulted from the old mill dam. You'll also pass through a covered bridge over the river which makes for a great relaxation spot.
- Spend some time at the old Roswell Mill. There are plenty of signs and photos showing the history of the mill.
- You may take bigger kids on the hike but it's not recommended for the younger ones. Some parts of the trail are steep and rocky and kids will need supervision.
